Manual + protected time blocks
30–90 min/day This week's connection plan not yet generated
Last week's plan (hosting + Vegas context) has rolled off. Ask Claude to "plan this week's connection time" to generate a fresh set of daily blocks. Protected blocks still stand: MCW Time 1–2 PM daily, and a date night to book — nothing on the calendar yet.
The pattern underneath (evergreen)
  • Two depth moments a week beat seven shallow ones. Everything else is recovery, ease, body, play.
  • Two anti-defaults: phone in another room for every block · when the fix reflex fires, name it out loud instead of acting on it.
  • The 60-second rule (from pursuer-withdrawer-cycle): any urge to leave the room — phone, office, "give me a minute" — stay 60 more seconds.
This week's date — when & where End-of-week reflection — what worked, what didn't, what to bring forward

Family Assistant hire

80-source synthesis. Recommendation: one part-time Family Assistant, 10–15 hrs/week at $25–$45/hr ($18K–$31K/yr all-in), focused on Michelle's 80/20 surface — kid-logistics, meal management, family calendar, errands. W-2, not 1099. The doc is unambiguous: the hire is the system. Now that the visit's over, this is the thing to actually move on. Full context: wiki/family/hiring-household-help.md

Notes from the conversation

Mike's Father's Day Mixbook — order by Jun 7

Hardcover Mixbook for [[Mike]] — grandfather-era theme covering [[Collins]], [[Remy]], [[Cooper]]. (1) pull 25–35 photos · (2) lay out the book · (3) Cowork fires the order by Jun 7 to land in Chico CA before Father's Day Jun 21. Photo pull is the gate — do it this week. Plan: Inbox/2026-05-24-mike-fathers-day-book.md

Stage progress / notes

Father's Day — Karl & Greg · Jun 21

Beyond Mike's book: cards + gifts for [[Karl]] (dad) and [[Greg]] (father-in-law). Cowork briefs were filed but still need pickup. 19 days out — cards should mail this week.

Who / status

Michelle's birthday plan · Jul 5

Turning 41 · 33 days out (gift lead-time threshold hits Jun 14). Direction locked: Track A — Saturday day-off + nice Nashville dinner. Gift = the day itself (spa + lunch + dinner) + a small physical gift + card. Kyle still owns 4 calls: friend for lunch, dinner cuisine, spa preference, gift theme. Doc: Inbox/2026-05-24-michelle-birthday-plan.md

Decisions Kyle owns / booking status

Primary bathroom — mold / moisture

Dry medic comes Wed 6/3 at 11 AM to inspect the primary bathroom. Decision after their findings: scope of remediation, cost, and whether it touches any reno timeline. Be home for the walkthrough; capture their assessment.

Bedtime routine · starts ~7:00 PM

Wind down, pajamas, stories in Collins' room, teeth, then each girl down in her own room.

Wind-down (7:00–7:15)

Clean up after dinner, hang out downstairs — play outside, watch a movie.

Before heading up: give each girl her MaryRuth's nighttime sleep aid (fridge, right-side door, white jar) — dose per the bottle: ≈2.5 mL Remy, ≈10 mL Collins (confirm on bottle). Then upstairs (~7:15) for pajamas.

Pajamas
  • Collins: potty → Pull-Up (on her dresser) → pajamas. Pull-Ups bedtime only.
  • Remy: night diaper (black ones, basket on top of dresser) → pajamas.
Stories + teeth

Everyone in Collins' room for 1–3 stories; girls drink milk during stories (warm whole milk, ~5 oz each, in a bottle — microwave ~30 sec, one bottle at a time). Then brush teeth.

Putting Collins down
  • Lamp on, reads 5–15 min; you can leave the room with the lamp on.
  • Lights-out cue over the Nanit intercom: "Hey Collins, time to turn the light off and go to bed."
  • Sleeps with a Tonie (lamb, little bear, big bear, or octopus) + unicorn light on (bookshelf).
  • Won't settle? "Lay still, be quiet, eyes closed" — you'll come snuggle in a few min. Usually asleep before you need to.
Putting Remy down (while Collins reads)
  • Sleep sack on (top-right drawer), swaddle.
  • One more short story (on the nightstand by her crib) → crib, lamp off, walk out.
  • Sound machine on the Nanit — pink noise, ~vol 70, no light.
  • Usually goes right down. If not, 5–10 min of fussing to self-settle; console only if needed.
Monitoring: watch both girls on the Nanit app.
Screens & activities
TVs
  • Turn the TV on with the TCL/Roku remote.
  • For sound, the Bose soundbar has its own Bose remote — power it on, then volume up/down (that's it).
What we watch
  • Live TV on YouTube TV.
  • Girls' shows/movies on Disney+ and YouTube Kids.
  • Approved YouTube channels: Blippi, the Gummy channel, and Bluey.
Arts & crafts (the girls love it)
  • Materials are on the kitchen counter or in the garage — immediately to the right as you walk out. Help yourselves to anything there.
  • Crafts are usually done outside or at the craft table in the kitchen.

Babysitter pipeline

Jenna Goodman · regular sitter
Notes / pay rate / contact
Samantha Kimmel · active backup · met the kids 5/30

(631)-626-8168 · s.kimmel18@icloud.com
Background: OT Masters candidate at Univ. of St. Augustine (2026) · BS Psych SUNY Oneonta (Magna Cum Laude, 2022) · CPR/First Aid in Pediatrics & Adults · coached children at Brain Balance · currently clinical at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN (May–July 2026).
Fit: excellent paid-trial / occasional sitter. Probably not a long-term Family Assistant — her clinical track ends here in July.
